Psalm 19 Card

Recently I've been working on making some scripture cards for my Bible Study Fellowship teaching leader. I'd like to finish 100 cards for her by the second week of May, and I have 36 done so far.
This card design uses a Verve clear stamp with Psalm 19:14. I die cut the verse with a WPlus9 Sunshine Layers die and added some PoppyStamps tulip die cuts to the bottom of the cards. The card bases are Paper Studio cards I purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Gerda Steiner April Progressive Challenge

This month for the Gerda Steiner Designs challenge, Gerda created this darling little monkey for us to play with! Isn't he adorable?! I have plans to use him on a birthday card with some bananas and a "Go bananas on your birthday" sentiment, but for this card, I wanted a message for a friend who is struggling to regain the use of her left side after a stroke. She's been in physical therapy and speech therapy for several months now and tries to be cheerful and upbeat, but she's had a rough couple of weeks recently, so I thought I could use Gerda's cute little monkey with a "Hang in there" sentiment to encourage her.

I used a 5X7 inch white card base I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I used my Silhouette Design Studio software to size up the monkey and then digitally paper piece him and the leaves of the tree. I also wrote the sentiment, sized everything up and printed them out. I colored the tree branch with a Copic marker and die cut the image with a Gina Marie Designs Stitched Square die. I matted the image with some green glitter cardstock. I die cut the sentiment with a Gina Marie Designs Wonky Rectangle die and matted it on the same green glitter cardstock I used to mat the image. It's a simple design, but I pray the Lord will use this card to encourage my friend.

God Gave Me You Card

This week over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge, our twist is "Anything Goes"! Hope you can join us!
Our sponsors this month are Gina Marie Designs and Ppinkydolls. Gina Marie Designs is giving the following X Stitch Rectangle Die Set away to this month's winner (U.S. addresses only), and we are also being sponsored by Ppinkydolls this month (digital stamps available to worldwide addresses for that prize). You can check out Gina Marie Design's dies and stamps at http://wholesalecraftingsupplies.com/t/-gina-marie-designs- and Ppinkydolls digi stamps at https://www.etsy.com/shop/ppinkydollsart?section_id=13880735&ref=shopsection_leftnav_1#
Here's a look at the dies Gina is offering this month:
My card uses a sweet digi from Ppinkydolls with my youngest daughter's favorite animal: a unicorn! I paired the digi with a sentiment from Gina Marie Designs' clear stamp set "Great Bible Quotes 3."
I used a gatefold cut file on my Silhouette to create the card base. I also used my Silhouette Design Studio software to size up my digi and print her before I die cut her with Gina Marie Designs "Stitched Squares" set. I colored her and her unicorn with Copic and MEXPY markers.

FTHS "How've you bean?" Card

This week over at the FTHS blog, the sketch challenge is a fun one as usual! The twist is to use washi tape, and I decided to do both the sketch and the twist.
I made a top-fold 6X6 inch card using Richard Garay dp for my card base. Then I sized up my FTHS digi using my Silhouette Design Studio software and printed it out along with the cute sentiment that came with this adorable set. I can't take credit for the lovely coloring here, by the way. Faith Skrdla offered a choice of one of her colored digis awhile back for donating to her daughter's hockey team (who made it to Nationals this year! Woot woot!), and I chose this colorful image. I die cut the image with a Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Stitched Frame set. I then used a yellow Gelato to add some color to the frame. I die cut the sentiment with a Gina Marie Designs Drop Pennant die and added some yellow Gelato to that, as well. I used some fun washi tapes to add my strips behind the image and popped up the frame and sentiment with foam tape. It's a bit busy, but I think it turned out bright and cheery.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday

This week over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge, our twist is to use 3 elements in a row from our Tic Tac Toe board. I've chosen glitter, flowers and brads for my card.
Our sponsors this month are Gina Marie Designs and Ppinkydolls. Gina Marie Designs is giving the following X-Stitched Rectangle Die Set away to this month's winner (U.S. addresses only), and we are also being sponsored by Ppinkydolls this month (digital stamps available to worldwide addresses for that prize). You can check out Gina Marie Design's dies and stamps at http://wholesalecraftingsupplies.com/t/-gina-marie-designs- and Ppinkydolls digi stamps at https://www.etsy.com/shop/ppinkydollsart?section_id=13880735&ref=shopsection_leftnav_1#
My card uses a darling digi by Ppinkydolls as well as die cuts from the same X Stitch Rectangle set that Gina is giving away this month. The glittery dragonfly and butterfly die cuts are from also Gina Marie Designs dies. I die cut some double-sided adhesive paper and then adhered the die cuts to the card. I poured glitter over the die cuts and voila! An easy way to add a sparkly touch to a card! I also tried something new after watching a Make it Monday video over at Papertrey Ink this week. I cut a white panel and scored it using one of the patterns on my Ultimate Crafter's Companion scoreboard. I think it added a little something extra to this card.
I added my flower brads and debated whether to add some chipboard flowers I had in my stash. In the end, I decided I had enough going on already, and the chipboard would have been too much with everything else.

Verve Psalm 19:14 Card

This is my second card playing with the new stamps I won from Verve Stamps during the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Sprig Blog Hop. Thanks, Julee! They stamp beautifully!
This time I followed the second April sketch over at Viva La Verve but kept to the colors from the inspiration challenge on the Verve blog again. I love these cheerful spring colors!
I used a 5x7 inch card base and scored it using my Ultimate Crafter's Companion. The score lines don't show up very well in the photo, but they add a nice touch that's more noticeable in person.
I die cut some papers from PTI, Richard Garay and some gold foil from Spellbinders for the elements on this card. I used Gina Marie Designs stitched rounded rectangle and lacey doily dies and stamped the verse on white cardstock. I adhered all the elements with glue tape except for the verse panel which I popped up with foam squares. Since Gina is a friend of mine, I'd like to give you the link to her online store where you can buy either of these sets for only $10. She has lots of wonderful dies at really reasonable prices. http://wholesalecraftingsupplies.com/t/-gina-marie-designs

My Grace is Sufficient Card

I recently won a $25 gift certificate to Verve Stamps during the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop, and this is one of the stamps I chose with my gift certificate. Thanks, Julee!
I followed the sketch at Viva La Verve and the color challenge on the Verve blog to design this card. It's a little more CAS than I usually do, but I like how it turned out. I was tempted to add some more details at the bottom, but I think this design really keeps your eyes on the scripture. It's such a beautiful verse! If you are feeling weary and weak today, I hope you will take comfort in this truth.
The card base I used is a 5X7 inch white cardstock base. I added some blue washi tape to match the color inspiration along with the hot pink and yellow in the photo. The squares were cut out using Gina Marie Stitched Squares (you can find this set for $10 at http://wholesalecraftingsupplies.com/t/-gina-marie-designs
I added a few Studio G buttons to finish off the card. Simple and easy!

Mother's Day Card with SheepskiDesigns

This month over at The Outlawz Progressive Monthly Freebie Challenge, we've been gifted with a lovely Mother's Day floral digi created by Andrea Norris of SheepskiDesigns. Thanks, Andrea! Anyone can join our monthly challenge and receive this month's digi for free simply by joining the Outlawz group and requesting the digi. Hope you can play along with us! With this great digi, you can get your Mother's Day cards taken care of in time for May!
For my card, I created a 7X6 inch white card base using a shimmery white cardstock. I sized and printed the digi using my Silhouette Design Studio software and then colored it with MEXPY markers. I die cut it with a WPlus9 die (from "Sunshine Layers") and added some pearls over the flower centers. I had originally colored them pink, but the card seemed to need a little more dimension. I chose some purple and yellow cardstock by PTI in matching colors and die cut the rectangle with a Marianne die and the doily with a Gina Marie Designs die. The "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment was die cut with a Lawn Fawn die.

Favorite Color Challenge Card

It's Thursday again, and that means a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday! Our twist for this week is to use your favorite color(s)! That's a bit tricky for me since I love the whole rainbow, but for this week, I went with the lovely combination of pink, green and blue. They look especially nice with this vintage paper from Graphic 45.
I made a square top fold card using the largest die in the Spellbinders Grand Squares die set. Then I die cut 2 X Stitch Rectangles from Gina Marie Designs and overlapped them slightly to give me the size I wanted behind my digi and sentiment. I adhered them to a cream panel and added a couple of the flower stamps from another area of the Graphic 45 paper I used. I popped them up with foam tape. I also added a few Dew Drops to the card.
I colored the digi with Copic and MEXPY markers and die cut her with a Gina Marie Designs Stitched Oval die. I also printed this same digi on Kraft paper and then fussy cut the puppy out and adhered him with a foam square to give the image a bit of dimension. I stamped the sentiment on some of the back of this same Graphic 45 cardstock and die cut it with a smaller size of the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Oval die set. I adhered both the digi and the sentiment with foam tape. The sentiment is from Gina Marie Designs clear stamp set "Great Bible Quotes."

Balloon Shaker Card

I love shaker cards, but I find them pretty time consuming to make. I recently invested in some of Papertrey Ink's double-sided adhesive foam, and I used it to make a set of 10 birthday cards for my mom. It was still a pretty time-consuming batch of cards to make, but I do think the double-sided adhesive helped.
The balloon shaker element is a die set from PTI that includes some die cut confetti, stars, strings and the "Hooray" sentiment I added in the balloon. I also added some beads and metallic balloons and confetti. The smaller balloon on the right side is an Avery Elle die.
The card base is an A2 DCWV card.
Inside the card, I used a Bugaboo image and sentiment that I colored digitally and then die cut using a Poppy Stamps die. I die cut a mat for it from the same Poppy Stamps set.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - W, 5E - Happy Birthday

Birthday Parade Card

I recently won my choice of 7 images from Bugaboo and just had to pick this darling little parade of animals! I was working on an order of birthday cards, so I added "Happy Birthday" to the banner, but you could add "Congratulations" or another fun sentiment to match whatever occasion you need.
After digitally coloring the image, I printed it out and die cut it with a Gina Marie Designs Stitched Square die and made a mat for it using some Papertrey Ink paper and another Gina Marie Designs Stitched Square die. I adhered it to a square of white paper and then used foam tape to pop it up in my A2 sparkly green card base.
For the inside, I used a PTI die and more PTI paper to die cut the sentiment and then adhered it with my Zig glue pen.
I love that a hedgehog is in the Bugaboo digi! This is Henry, my 7-month-old hedgehog. Now that Henry is part of my life, I find myself noticing all the cute hedgehog stamps out there!

From The Heart Stamps April Monthly Freebie

This month over at From The Heart Stamps, Faith Skrdla has really outdone herself in creating a lovely digi set with 3 images and 6 sentiments for the progressive monthly freebie challenge! This set is beautiful and so versatile! Thanks, Faith!

For my card, I followed this week's sketch on the FTHS blog. The card base is a 6X6 square card. I used my Silhouette Design Studio software to size up the digi and sentiment and then did a trace of the digi. I printed it out and cut it several times so I could do some layering of the flowers. I fussy cut several elements and added different thicknesses of foam tape to add some dimension to the digi after coloring it with Tim Holtz distress, Marvey and MEXPY markers.

Next I die cut a panel of Papertrey Ink cardstock with script writing on it using a Spellbinders border die. I used the same paper to cut a panel for my sentiment to go on. I printed the sentiment directly onto the design paper I wanted to use and then trimmed it down. I also die cut a piece of antique teal design paper for the border separating my digi from my sentiment and added some lace just above it for texture.

I adhered some cream silk ribbon before adding my digi to the top panel with foam tape.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Color Pop Birthday Card

This week's Make it Monday challenge for Papertrey Ink is to make a card using the "color pop" technique. I'm not sure I completely understand the technique except that from the looks of the card in the video and the other cards I've seen entered, you want to have a mostly neutral card with just a "pop" of color.
I used the "happy" die from PTI's "One Big Happy" set along with the flower and leaves stamps and dies from that set. Then I used the "Birthday" die from the "Birthday Cheer" die set. The pretty pink paper is also from PTI.
I die cut the "happy" die multiple times to be able to make a background with it. I adhered the die cuts with my Zig glue pen. Then I added the "Birthday" sentiment and stamped the leaf stamp in the lower right corner. I die cut the flowers from white card stock and stamped them before adhering the smaller yellow flower with my Zig glue pen and the larger blue flower with some foam tape to add a touch of dimension to this CAS card.

Tulip Birthday Card

This week over at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge the theme is "birthdays," and as they are celebrating their 7th birthday, they are giving away 7 $50 gift certificates to their store. They allow 5 entries each week, so I'm hoping to get 5 birthday cards made and posted by next Wednesday. This is my second one today! I think this will be an even bigger week for them than usual. I've never won their challenges before, but there's a first time for everything, right?!
I recently bought a Poppy Stamps tulips die, and I thought it would work well here with this beautiful digi from The Paper Shelter called simply "Tulips." The lovely background paper is from the same set. I love the way TPS sells sets with digi backgrounds included as well as the colored and outline images. Here I used my Silhouette Design Studio software to do a trace of the sweet girl so I could print and cut her out a few times. Then I fussy cut various parts of the image (her hat, her skirt, her arm and the flower she's holding) so I could do some decoupage. I used foam tape to layer the various pieces.
The butterfly die cuts are from the Spellbinders "Jewel Flowers and Flourishes" set, and the die cut for the sentiment is also a Spellbinders die from the "Fleur de Elegance" set. I wrote the sentiment using my Silhouette program and then added it on top of the digital paper from this set. Then I printed it, die cut it and adhered it with foam tape. All the die cuts were cut out of the same digi paper from this set so they would match perfectly. I cut several sets of tulips and arranged them in layers on the bottom and the top right suing foam tape.
I thought these understated colors reminded me of a vintage look, so I decided to add some cream lace on the sides and a couple pearls to each butterfly in keeping with that style. I mounted everything onto a 5X7 inch Kraft card base using glue tape.
