I'm finishing up the Altenew Educator Program and taking my final classes. I recently finished one called Cards In Motion that included shaker card ideas. I combined the first lesson on creating an enclosed shaker shape to add to a card with a fun fold card design I saw by Wendy Lee here:
WOW Fall Pop-Out Window Card | Easy 3D Acetate Card Tutorial to create this card.
All papers used for this card are from Your Paper Insider. I'm blessed to be on their Design Team and love getting a new box of specialty papers every quarter! If you'd like to subscribe to receive your own box of fun papers or to purchase previous boxes and paper collections on their website, I would love it if you used my affiliate link at no additional cost to you:
Your Paper Insider. I've listed the papers I used in the comments below. All papers were from Box 13 which is the current box shipping from October through December.
I started my card by trimming a panel of Amazon Blue Lessebo Cardstock to 4 1/8 by 5 1/2 inches. Then I trimmed a piece of Silver Holographic Micro Mosaic to 3 7/8 by 5 1/4 inches. I embossed that panel with Altenew's Layered Snowflakes 3D embossing folder and adhered it to the Amazon Blue cardstock panel. Then I trimmed a piece of Dura-Lar Clear acetate to 6 by 4 inches and scored it at 7/8 inch from both ends on the long side. Before adhering the sides to the Amazon Blue panel, I die cut a tag from Baby Pink Cardstock and then die cut a smaller tag out of the inside of the larger tag using Altenew's Terrific Tags set. It's hard to tell in the photos, but the snowflakes have pink tints in them, and the Baby Pink Cardstock coordinates well with that. I adhered the large tag to the embossed background (I didn't want to cover much of the beautiful embossed holographic cardstock, so that's why I die cut a tag out of the larger tag) and then adhered snowflakes I had die cut using Altenew's Layered Snowflakes and Layered Snowflakes 2 die set and blue papers from the Aurora Origami Gift Pack included in Box 13. I held up the acetate and the shaker frame to see where I should place my snowflakes so they peeked out nicely.
For the shaker in the front, I die cut a label using Altenew's Labels and Tags1 Die Set and White Holographic Confetti Jr. Cardstock and then used a smaller die from the same set to die cut the center of the label. I adhered 2 layers of Altenew's 1/8 inch thick 1/4 inch wide Instant Dimension Foam Tape around the shaker opening and added silver, blue, pink, and transparent beads to the shaker. I carefully lined up the front of the acetate panel to center the shaker and adhered it to the acetate. Then I adhered the side tabs to the back of the Amazon Blue panel. I covered the tabs with another panel of Amazon Blue Cardstock. Then I created a stand for the card because unlike Wendy's card, my card is very top heavy due to the shaker on the front. I trimmed a piece of Blue Raspberry Poptone cardstock to 6 by 3 inches and scored it at 1/2, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, and 5 1/2. I folded along the score lines to create a stand and adhered the top and bottom tabs to the back of the card. This gives the card stability so it can stand up without tipping over.
To finish the card, I added a couple more die cut snowflakes and stamped and heat embossed "warm hugs" in silver using a stamp from Altenew's Pumpkin Patch Stamp Set and the coordinating die to cut it out.
