Cornucopia Thanksgiving Card

This month at the From The Heart Stamps Progressive Challenge, Faith Skrdla has designed a lovely set called simply "Cornucopia" with several sentiments for us to use. This card kind of evolved as I went along. Sometimes when I'm starting a card I know exactly what I want my layout to look like. This card wasn't that way! I actually had something completely different in mind, but I scrapped that idea after sizing and printing my digi with my Silhouette Design Studio software and coloring the image with Copic and MEXPY markers. I decided to add some decoupage elements, so I printed a few more copies of the image, colored and cut the pieces I wanted to use, and adhered them to the image with foam squares. I cut out the image by tracing the inside of a Sizzix die from the "Ticket Fold-A-Long Card" set I had originally planned to use for the base of this card. Then I chose my papers for the card and mat behind the image.
Here's the digi before the decoupage elements were added. It's such a great arrangement of different fruits and vegetables that it really winds up being quite colorful.

The card base is cut from some burgundy cardstock that is sparkly on one side. I decided to leave the sparkles on the inside for this card since the front already had so much going on. I used a Spellbinders Grand Labels 4 die to make the card base and then cut another piece of the burgundy cardstock for the front of the card to cover the part of the top that had to be cut through below the cut line on the die so the card would be connected at the top.
For my purple mat behind the image, I chose the largest Spellbinders Decorative Labels 28 die. I added some orange ribbon to go behind my digi and then popped up my cornucopia image with foam squares and adhered the purple mat to the card with more foam squares. I embellished the card front with a leaf I made with Sculpey clay cut with a cutter from Premo's "Nature" clay cutter set. The light brown color matches the cornucopia. My "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment is from the same FTHS "Cornucopia" digi set. I die cut it using the smallest die in the Spellbinders Ribbon Weaving set.

For the inside of the card, I used another sentiment from the Cornucopia set which I die cut with a Spellbinders Elegant Ovals die and matted with purple cardstock cut with the largest in the Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance Ovals die set.

I used 3 more clay leaves I cut from the same Premo "Nature" set I used for the leaf on the front of the card. I also added a pumpkin from The Paper Studio's Knick Knacks "Fall Icons" set.
