Eat More Pie Card

 

When this set came out at From the Heart Stamps, I could not resist buying it! Such a cute turkey with his "Eat More Pie" sign! The set comes with the slice of pie I've cut separately and some funny sentiments I didn't use on this card but plan to use later. I especially love the "Gobble till you wobble!" sentiment.
To start this card, I imported the digi set to My Silhouette Design Studio software and sized things up the way I wanted them. Then I did a trace of the digis I wanted to use before doing a print and cut. I wanted to hand color the images, so I didn't color them digitally this time.
After printing and cutting them out with my Silhouette Portrait, I colored them with Copics and MEXPY markers. I decided to use Kraft cardstock for my 5X7 inch card base, and I embossed the front with a chicken wire embossing folder by Cuttlebug.
I used some orange felt for the background and die cut it with Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles. Then I die cut some brown felt with Pink and Main's "Scallop Wave" dies and then die cut it again with the same Spellbinders Radiant Rectangle I used on the orange felt, so it fit on the bottom of that. I used glue to adhere those together and then to the card. The turkey and sign were adhered with foam squares.
For the little pies at the bottom, I used the smallest die from the Spellbinders Floral Ovals set and die cut 4 of them from tan cardstock. I adhered the pies to them with foam squares and then used glue dots to adhere the ovals to the front of the card.
This card is going to my nephews (ages 7 and 10) out in Illinois. I don't get to see them nearly as often as I'd like, but I try to send out cards to let them know Aunt Carrie and her family are thinking about them.
