Paris Card

The idea behind this card was to show support for France after the terrible terrorist attacks in Paris last weekend. The beautiful digi stamp and sentiment were a free gift on the Simply Betty Stamps FB page after the attacks.
After importing the stamp and sentiment to my Silhouette Design Studio software, I sized them up and grouped them together before printing them out on Bazzil Coconut Swirl cardstock. I colored the digi with Copic and MEXPY markers and used a Krylon silver leafing pen for the Eiffel Tower. Then I die cut the image and sentiment using Spellbinders Grand Labels 11 which I also used to die cut the card base which has a side hinge. I added a couple flowers die cut with Spellbinders dies and some green felt leaves (also Spellbinders dies) and added buttons tied with blue floss to the flower centers.
France has a special place in my heart. I went to France with an exchange program when I was 16 and had a wonderful host family with whom I've remained close over the last nearly 30 years. I was blessed to spend a semester in Angers, France during college, and was recently able to visit my host mom and sister and meet my host sister's husband and children in August 2014 when I took a family trip to France, Italy and Switzerland.
For all my French friends, I'm so sorry for what you've been through these last few days. May the Lord comfort you and protect you in the days to come.
