Guest Designer Post for Cut It Up Card Challenge

I'm excited to be the GD over at the Cut It Up die cutting challenge that runs from September 7-20! If you've never participated, feel free to join the fun! All you need is to follow the theme and use die cuts. Here's the link: Cut It Up (cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com)

The theme this time is "Big," and I think this is the biggest card I've ever made in terms of length! I used the Enchantment layering dies set by Birch Press Designs and added tiny paper hinges to each layer to create an accordion style card. It stretches really big, but it folds flat to mail.

I chose some pearlescent cardstock for the top layer and then metallic red and metallic turquoise for the middle and bottom die cut layers before die cutting all the layers with the Enchantment dies. I then cut a base layer from black card stock and die cut a half circle on the right side of it. I adhered the black card stock to a white A2 card base. Then I proceeded to make and adhere the tiny hinges to create the accordion-style card (they had to be less than a quarter inch wide so that they wouldn't show through on the front). Then I added some rhinestones to the places where the die has tiny circles cut out for decoration. I also wanted something more decorative for the back black panel, so I added pearls in a half circle around the cut out where the sentiment is. I used an Our Daily Bread stamp and die cut it with a Gina Marie stitched circle die I had cut in half. I adhered the sentiment with foam tape so it has a little dimension. Last of all, I then adhered 3 small flowers I stamped and die cut from the SU! Dahlia Days stamp and die bundle to add a little color to the sentiment panel.

Here's a look at all three dies from the Enchantment set next to examples of the small half circles they cut in addition to the larger pattern (you can check out the card I made earlier to see what the die cuts look like nested together when using the half circle die cuts: Carrie's Custom Cards: Blessings Card (carriescustomcards.blogspot.com):
