Stand Mixer Shaped Shaker Card

This month over at the Stay Crafty With Hero Challenge, the theme is shaker cards. I love shaker cards and thought this design would be great for my recent card class with a friend and her 2 daughters. This was the girls' favorite project of the 5 projects we made in our time together. 

Hobby Lobby had the cutest little shaker elements in their Christmas section, and I thought they would be just darling for this card. There are little gingerbread men, Santa hats, Christmas trees, stockings, penguins, candy canes, etc. in the assortment. I also had some chunky glitter and red and green shaker beads to add in. I found that the chunky glitter stuck to the acetate and didn't really shake very well, so I only used it on one of the cards. 

The card design is from a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store. I chose my papers and cut out the elements and then designed the shaker elements by using the offset feature in the Silhouette Design Studio software. I propped up the shaker bowl with two layers of foam tape. I designed the sentiment on the inside and used a Silhouette Design Store file for the whisk on the inside of the card. I really like the look of the whisk and bowl using the silver card stock. Since I was mass producing these card elements for a class, I didn't decorate the front much. I think some stamping or embellishments on the front of the card would be nice in the future.
