1 Corinthians 3:16 GD Card for Word Art Wednesday

I have the wonderful privilege of being the Guest Designer at Word Art Wednesday this month! I want to thank Karen Letchworth for graciously extending the invitation to me to be a GD. I have used a lot of the word art from WAW over the years and very much enjoy participating in the bi-weekly challenges where it's always anything goes. Here's a link so you can play along: Word Art Wednesday

The card base for this fun fold design comes from Lisa Curcio, and I'm linking her YouTube video here: ðŸ”´ Create an Exquisite Fun Fold Card for Wedding, Anniversary, Invitations & Showers! - YouTube. I changed the design slightly to accommodate the size of my coverplate dies and to use a bookmark rather than a gift card, but the video was my inspiration for the card design.

For the technique (lining the verse up on 3 layers), I was inspired by a Gina K video. Here's a link to her video showing how to create a card front with stamping using a cover plate die: Try this technique with your Die Plates! - YouTube. I had a digital stamp to work with rather than a physical stamp, but the technique is similar. I printed the verse on three pieces of white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo to place the verse in the same place on each rectangle. Then I ran 2 of the rectangles through my eBosser die cutting machine with the 2 cover plates from my Sizzix Floral Lattice die set. I used my blending brushes to ink up both die cut layers using 3 shades of green and 3 shades of pink, and then I carefully adhered them together so the verse lined up. Finally, I adhered the die cut layers to the remaining white cardstock rectangle with the verse printed on it, again making sure to carefully line up the words of the verse. I adhered the panel with the verse on it to a card base of 7 3/4 X 5 3/8 scored at 3 7/8 and adhered inside the larger card base so that it opens to the right. Then I decorated the panel with some gems and jeweled butterflies.

For the inside of the card, a pocket is created when the far right panel is folded and adhered to the middle section using glue on only the edges of the pocket. I decided to create a bookmark with some pretty yellow ribbon to place inside the pocket. For the bookmark, I stamped 2 Corinthians 5:17 using a rubber stamp from Our Daily Bread and then I die cut the sentiment using a stitched rectangle die by Gina Marie Designs. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come" seemed like a wonderful verse to pair with the verse on the front of the card. Once we are in Christ, we are a new creation, and the Holy Spirit dwells in us. Praise God for the gift of the Holy Spirit to transform us more and more into the likeness of Christ and enable us to grow in our faith! To decorate the bookmark, I stamped a small rose and a small leaf using a Close to My Heart 2-step stamp set and then fussy cut the rose and leaf and adhered them to the sentiment panel. I adhered that to the front of the bookmark and then adhered an embossed panel to the back of the bookmark. I used a Craftwell embossing folder for the embossed pink panel.

The left inner panel was created using the Hero Arts Daisy Mosaic stencil and Simon Hurley's Prom Queen lunar paste. I love the shine lunar paste creates! The middle panel is where I'll write my personal note, and I added a rose and 3 leaves from the same CTMH set I used on the bookmark to decorate the yellow panel. I stamped the 2-step stamps for the largest rose and both sizes of leaves and then fussy cut them and adhered them to the yellow panel. On the far right, I added a floral die cut I thought matched the Floral Lattice dies on the front of the card, and I stamped "You are in my prayers" using another retired CTMH stamp set. I added one last jeweled butterfly to that panel, and my card was finished.
