Retiform Birthday Card

One thing I find very fun about entering the number of card challenges that I do is that I often learn a new technique or tip. This week I used a fun new technique to make a colorful birthday card.
Retiform was not even a term I had heard of before last week, to be honest, but after watching a Gina K. Youtube video demonstrating the technique, I felt like it would be fun to give it a try. I decided to use it on a card for Your Next Stamp's Color Challenge since I recently bought this darling YNS "Sprinkles - Knit Happens" stamp set and wanted to use it for a birthday card.
Using post it notes and the sides of envelopes, I sponged different colors of ink onto my card to match the colors in the challenge. Then I used the post it notes again to stamp images into each little "compartment." The ink is actually a dark blue to match the colors in the challenge, although it's dark enough it looks almost black in some places.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
  • YNS Challenges - 2W , SIR (Top Pick) SIO, (Winner and Stand out) - No.39 - (W1 of 2) - Sketch* and Inspirational Photo* use either the sketch or the photo or use both
  • Mod Squad Challenge - W, F - Retiform Challenge *see blog
