PTI and Share Joy Challenge Card

This week over at Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge the challenge was to create a card using scoring. It doesn't show up too well in the photo, but I used my Ultimate Crafter's Companion and scored straight lines at various distances across the the card vertically. Then I used the PTI Phrase Play #11 stamp and die to die cut and stamp some PTI paper that had the right colors for the Share Joy challenge this week.

I also added a scalloped frame using a Gina Marie Designs die which you can find at http://wholesalecraftingsupplies.com along with lots of other great dies and stamps.

Bugaboo Graduation Card

This week over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge, our twist is ATG! That's right! Anything Goes, so why not join us this week?
Our sponsor this month is Bugaboo, and I've used one of their precolored digis for this card. For more great digis, you can check out the Bugaboo online store here: http://www.bugaboostamps.com.
After printing my digi, I die cut him with a Gina Marie Designs X stitched rectangle die. You can find her dies (this set was only $10!) at http://wholesalecraftingsupplies.com.
I used a black A2 card base for the card and matted it with yellow cardstock. Then I die cut a Papertrey Ink cover plate and adhered that with foam squares. I mounted my digi with foam squares, also, so there"/ some depth to this card. I die cut the "Celebrate" sentiment from another Papertrey Ink set and then added some sequins for a bit of sparkle.

Psalm 91:4 Card

A dear sister in Christ is going through a difficult time with her husband having recently been diagnosed with cancer. It's a very serious case, and I wanted to encourage her in some way and decided to use this beautiful verse from Psalm 91:4. What a blessing to know God gives us refuge and protection in the storms of life!
I made the card base with some CTMH papers that have a peacock feather background in blue on one side and in light brown on the other. I die cut the card base using a Gina Marie Designs X stitched rectangle, taping the folded paper to the top part of the die so that the very top edge didn't cut. This left me with a top fold for my card.
Then I die cut the panel for the verse using a die from Marianne. The clear stamp with the verse on it is from a set of scripture stamps by Gina Marie Designs.
I applied cream chalks by Pebbles to the acrylic feathers to color them. They are adhered with large glue dots to the frame which was adhered with foam squares.
The inside sentiment comes from a CTMH clear stamp. I will add a personalized message letting her know we are praying for her family and asking for God's comfort and peace as her husband recovers from surgery and begins the arduous process of chemotherapy and radiation.

Papertrey Ink Easter Cards

These Easter cards celebrate the good news that our Savior lives! Hallelujah! Did you know "Hallelujah" comes from two Hebrew words meaning "praise" and "Yahweh"? Yep! "Hallelujah" literally means "praise the LORD!" How fitting for Easter!
This card uses a 5x7 inch white card base which I embossed with a floral Cuttlebug folder. Then I die cut the little church scene using Papertrey Ink dies for everything but the small cloud which is a Top Dog die.
I stamped "Happy Easter" with a Papertrey Ink stamp and adhered everything with glue tape and foam squares.
For the inside of the card, I used Memory Box's Catalina Wreath die and Papertrey Ink's "Savior" die along with the "Savior" stamp set.
Wishing you all a blessed Easter celebrating our risen Savior! He is risen!

Tea-Cup Puppy Card

I thought I would combine my need to get some get well soon cards done with my desire to add some more coffee cards to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop using this cute digi by Sami Stamps. I did some paper piecing on the tea cups and colored the pup with Copics. I used my Silhouette Design Studio program to write the sentiment and then printed it out and matted it with some green cardstock. I adhered the digi and sentiment to my 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch card base after die cutting the digi with a Gina Marie X-stitched die.

Fresh Brewed Designs Card

The digi for this A2 card came from Fresh Brewed Designs. I thought it was a lovely digi and was excited to use it for a card for the Spring Blog Hop at Coffee Loving Cardmakers. I sized it up in my Silhouette Design Studio software and wrote out the sentiment with that software, also. I printed them out and die cut the digi using a Wafllefowler die from the "Lacey Layers" set. I colored the digi with Copics and MEXPY markers and adhered it to my card base with glue tape. I popped the sentiment up using foam squares.

Jessica Lynn Thanks a Latte Card

The digi on this card came from Jessica Lynn. She generously designed and gave him away free for the Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop, and I thought I'd use him for the Spring Hop, too. I sized him up in my Silhouette Design Studio software and then die cut him with a Spellbinders die and colored him with Copic and MEXPY markers. I mounted him on a blue background and adhered him to my 5 1/2 inch X 7 inch card. I added the "Thanks a Latte" sentiment by Bugaboo stamps with foam squares.

Jessica Lynn Brentwood Needs Coffee Card

Jessica Lynn very generously designed and gave away another Brentwood digi for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop. Here I've used "Brentwood Needs Coffee" and paired him with a sentiment from Bugaboo stamps that just seemed to match the tired, worn out look Brentwood is sporting here!
For the background, I printed some coffee beans from a From The Heart Stamps digi called "Birdbrain Needs Coffee" set onto some green cardstock and cut the card base into a 5 1/2 X 7 1/2 inch rectangle. I sized up my Brentwood digi using my Silhouette Design Studio software and then printed him out. I die cut him with a die from WPlus9 Sunshine Layers set. I also printed the Bugaboo sentiment and fussy cut it. I colored Brentwood with Copic and MEXPY markers and added some puffy hearts to go with the hearts on his shirt. I adhered the sentiment and digi panel with foam squares.

Embossing Paste with Pearl Ex Cross

This card was my first attempt at using embossing paste with Pearl Ex pigment dies. I used Gina Marie Designs cross die cover plate as a stencil and applied embossing paste mixed with various colors of Pearl Ex using a palette knife. Then I took off the tape holding the die down and carefully lifted the die off the paper. I let the embossing paste harden overnight. Then I die cut the cross cover plate with some teal card stock and adhered it down on the paper with a spray-on adhesive. I used small foam squares to adhere the 4 corners of the die cut onto the purple glitter A2 card base.

From the Heart Stamps Birdbrain Coffee Card

For this week's challenge over at I {heart} sketches with a tWist, the twist is to create a masculine card. I love this Birdbrain digi and had to use him this week since it is also the Spring Blog Hop over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog this week.
I sized up my digi and sentiment and printed them out using my Silhouette Design Studio software. I colored the digi with Copic and MEXPY markers and die cut him with a Gina Marie stitched oval die.
The card base is an SVG file I cut on my Silhouette.

Sunshine Card

This week over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge, our twist is: spring! When I think of spring, I think of sunshine and ice cream, so I could resist this cute pre-colored digi by this month's sponsor Bugaboo. You can find this digi and hundreds of other great digis at http://www.bugaboostamps.com.
My card has a white A2 card base. I sized up and printed out my digi and then die cut her with a stitched oval die by Gina Marie Designs. I die cut a Top Dog die using black cardstock for the mat behind it, and then I die cut my red frame using the same Top Dog die inside the frame from WPlus9 Sunshine Layers die set to leave an opening for my black die cut mat. The sun and "sunshine" sentiment are from that same WPlus9 die set.

Gerda Steiner Coffee Bunny Card

This card is another one for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop, and I used the "nerdy" Gerda Steiner bunny from this month's progressive freebie challenge at The Outlawz. If you would like to receive this cute digi for free, simply join The Outlawz Freebie Progressive group, and you can play along! If you enter your project in the challenge group, you will automatically be emailed next month's digi for free! It's great fun to see what everyone will make with the digits each month. The same digi will be creatively used so many different ways you'll be amazed!
I digitally colored up my little bunny in my Silhouette program and did a trace around him so I could print and cut him out. The sentiment is from Bugaboo digi stamps, and I sized it up and drew a rectangle cut file around it before printing and cutting it out.
The cute to-go coffee cup is a print and cut file from U Printables at http://uprintables.blogspot.com
I used glue tape on the sentiment coffee cup and foam squares to pop up the bunny.

Gerda Steiner Mouse Coffee Card

I apologize if you are getting tired of all the coffee-themed cards, but I really enjoy supporting the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog hops, and the Spring hop is on this week, so I've been busy!
This card features a digi stamp by Gerda Steiner. She creates such cute critters!
This card is an A2 card base, and since this is the Spring CLCM blog hop, I chose a floral design for the background. I printed out my digi, die cut the little guy with a Waffleflower Lacey Layers die and then colored him up with Copic and MEXPY markers. I tried to match the pink and green in the background flowers with the colors I chose for his tail, nose and coffee cup. In hindsight, I wish I would have chosen a lighter gray for him. I'll try to remember that next time I color him.
The "Java Great Day" sentiment is from Bugaboo stamps.

Perk Up Card

Yes, it's another coffee-themed card! This time I embossed my A2 card base with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and used a fun sentiment by Bugaboo stamps. I popped up the sentiment and the print and cut to-go cup by U Printables at http://uprintables.blogspot.com using foam squares. I distressed the background embossing with some brown pigment ink.

Thanks A Latte Card

This thank you card uses some pretty floral paper by Graphic 45. I just love their papers!

The card base is a 6x6 inch square. I cut a couple flower stamps from another section of the paper and added them to the bottom left corner with a very thin foam tape.

I wrote the sentiment on the to-go coffee cups and popped them up with foam squares. The coffee cups are a print and cut file by U Printables. There are loads of wonderful free files the site at http://uprintables.blogspot.com

Carrot Bunny Coffee Card

This card started with a 5x7 inch white card base I embossed with a Cuttlebug floral embossing folder.
I used a cut file on my Silhouette for the grass border and created the sentiment using my Silhouette Design Studio program. I added a rectangular cut file and did a print and cut of it. I digitally colored the darling Gerda Steiner bunny with his giant carrot which is this month's design for Gerda's progressive challenge. I did a trace of him and print and cut him out. The to-go cup is a print and cut file from U Printables at http://uprintables.blogspot.com

Get Well Coffee Card

Recently my mom asked me to make her some "Get Well" soon cards, and I decided to combine that idea with another card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop. I used the print and cut to-go coffee cup from U Printables at http://uprintables.blogspot.com

I wrote out the sentiment in my Silhouette Design Studio software, colored it in digitally and added a rectangle cut file so I could do a print and cut of it. Then I distressed the edges with some green to match the background and added 3 gems for a little sparkle.

Teacup Bunny Card

This sweet bunny digi comes from Sami Stamps. I did a trace of the digi and digitally colored all the bunny parts of the digi and filled in the teacup with a fun digital paper pattern from Harper Finch. Then I did a print and cut of the various layers with my Silhouette, with 3 layers for the bunny's paws and 2 layers for his face and ears. Since this card is for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop, I wanted to use some pretty spring colors. I always like to have some fun cards on hand to encourage people, so I added the "You're Tea-riffic" sentiment after writing it in my Silhouette program and drawing a rectangle cut file around it. I did a print and cut of the sentiment and popped it up with foam tape.

The white panel for the bunny was die cut using a Waffleflower Lacey Layers die.

Teenagers Card

This week over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge, our twist is: LAYERS. Add some layers to your project if you'd like to use the twist. Otherwise, it's always fine to submit an ATG project, so why not join us?!

The digi I'm using is from our creative sponsor this month Bugaboo. If you'd like to check out their selection of fun digis, visit http://www.bugaboostamps.com. They offer a free digi every Friday, also!
I have 4 teenagers in the house right now, so I can relate to this funny sentiment, although in truth I am very grateful for each one of them and realize (most of the time anyway!) how blessed my husband and I are that God entrusted them to our care.
After sizing up and printing out the digi, I cut along the outside lines and then colored it. Then I got to work on all my layers!
For the card base and layers under my digi, I used a die set from Marianne Designs. I made a top-hinge card base with the largest die and then used the same die to cut out a piece of green cardstock for my first layer. Then
I used purple cardstock for the next "scalloped" layer, pink cardstock for the layer with the cut outs, and more green for the smaller layer just behind the digi. The flourishes I used are also Marianne Design dies.
The flowers were and leaves were die cut and embossed using Spellbinder dies, and I arranged them around the edges of the digi. The butterfly is a Gina Marie Designs die. I added some gems to a few of the flowers for a little sparkle.
