Strong Oak Father's Day Pillar Card

Altenew's 11-year anniversary is this month, and I was invited to be part of the celebrations! This is one of the cards I made for the Instagram Hop on April 17. Altenew is encouraging sneak peeks, so here's  mine 😊.

I recently watched a video where Sam Calcott created a Pillar Fold Card and thought it would be a great fold for a Father's Day card featuring Altenew's Strong Oak stencil and die set. I trimmed and scored all my blue card base pieces and white layers and ran the white layers through Altenew's Cloudy Day 3D embossing folder. Then I adhered them to the blue base using Art Glitter glue. 

I stenciled the Strong Oak set using Altenew's Just Green, Hunter Green, and Evergreen Crisp Dye Ink. Then I die cut the top part of the tree up to the grass line and fussy cut the grass out. The tree fit great across the span of the two pillars. I adhered the tree with Altenew's new 1-inch wide and 1/6-inch thick Instant Dimension Foam Tape. 

I die cut the letters for "DAD" using Altenew's Linear Pathway Alpha die set and adhered them to the tree. 

For the back of the card, I adhered a layer of white cardstock and used a Close to My Heart stamp for the "Happy Father's Day" sentiment and die cut it using Altenew's Fine Ring Circle die set to finish the card.
