Bubbly Bumble Bee Card

I recently attended a 2-day marathon of crafting challenges led by Altenew Educators over Zoom this past Friday and Saturday, and while I was mostly working on a project of 250 Christmas cards, I took a break to complete this challenge so I could make a birthday card for my best friend. Here are the challenge parameters: include 3 of something, use a transparent element, and use something tiny. We agree that splatter would work for something tiny as it creates tiny droplets. I have 3 bees, vellum wings for my bees, and Altenew's Iridescent Shimmer Spray for my something tiny. It's hard to see in the photos, but in real life, the background has a nice shimmer to it from the spray.

I created the cloudy sky background using Altenew's Cloud Scene Stencil and Altenew's Sea Glass ink on Your Paper Insider's watercolor paper. The bees on the card front were die cut using Altenew's Bubbly Bumble Bee die set and papers from Your Paper Insider: from Box 12: Cherry Red Cardstock, Deep Black Cadillac, and Amber Stardream; from Box 13: Amazon Blue Lessebo, White Fine Lines Vellum, and Pumpkin Colormates Cardstock. The bee inside the card features the following papers from Box 13: Marigold Thai Unryu, Aurora Origami gift pack, Red Wagon Mirri Sparkle, and Baby Pink Cardstock.

Once I had my panel stenciled and the bees die cut, I added the bees to the background using Altenew's Instant Dimension Foam Tape. Then I added the background to a panel of Deep Black Cadillac cardstock cut a quarter inch larger than the cloudy scene panel. I then adhered the panel to a white A2 card base. For the sentiment, I used my Nelko label maker and some yellow label tape to create the custom "Happy Bee-day!" sentiment. I added the sentiment to the bottom of the card to finish the front of the card.

For the inside of the card, I stamped and die cut the sentiment "have an awesome day" from Altenew's Craft-Your-Life: Honeycomb Haven project kit onto cardstock I covered with Marigold Thai Unryu paper. I die cut 2 more die cuts using the sentiment die so I could stack them together for a bit of dimension. Then I adhered the last little bee above the sentiment to finish the card.
