A crafty friend fell and injured herself recently, so I created this card to lift her spirits. I used Altenew's Craft-Your-Life: Butterfly Garden project kit to create the card. I started by making a top-folding white A2 card base. Then I trimmed a panel of white cardstock to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and ink blended peachy tones from Altenew's Sun-Kissed Delights Fresh Dye Ink Collection. I then ran the panel through my embossing machine using the 3D embossing folder included in the Butterfly Garden kit.
Next, I ink blended through the stencils included in the Butterfly Garden kit using the same ink collection along with Peachy Keen Fresh Dye Ink to create the butterflies. I die cut them with the unique die that die cuts all the elements in the stenciled background at once (see photo below).
I die cut a piece of vellum using the smaller die in Altenew's Labels and Tags 1 Die set and stamped "hugs" from Altenew's Craft-Your-Life: Magnificent Magnolias kit and die cut it with the coordinating die in the kit. I then ink blended an ombré effect on the sentiment and added a few other die cuts to give it a bit of dimension (I just used the sentiment die to die cut cardstock without stamping anything on it and then stacked the die cuts after adhering them with liquid glue). I adhered the vellum with the sentiment using Altenew's Instant Dimension Foam Tape placed only behind the sentiment so it would be hidden from view.
I chose 3 butterflies from the background I had ink blended and die cut earlier and adhered just their bodies to the card panel so that I could bend their wings up a little for dimension.
To finish the card front, I added a few of Altenew's Antique Gold Sequins.
For the inside of the card, I stamped and die cut the "feel better soon" sentiment from Altenew's Build-A-Garden: Grand Carnations set and ink blended an ombré effect on that sentiment as well. I added another butterfly from the butterflies I ink blended and die cut from the same set as the ones on the front of the card.
