Garden Whispers Card, Bookmark, and Envelope Set

I had the pleasure of cheering on one of my fellow Altenew crafters today during her Level 3 AECP workshop. Carol Pope did an amazing job in her workshop today teaching a class on creating a coordinating card, bookmark, and envelope set.

I used Altenew's Craft-Your-Life: Garden Whispers project kit to create this set of coordinating card, bookmark, and envelope. Inks were from Altenew's Sun-Kissed Delights and Whispering Woodland.

For the card, I embossed 2 panels of white cardstock with an old Richard Garay sweater pattern embossing folder from my stash. Then I trimmed one panel to 4 by 5 1/4 and left the other one at 4 1/4 by 5 1/2. I splattered both panels using Altenew's Enchanted Gold Shimmer Relief Paste spritzed with a little water. I set them aside to dry.

I trimmed a piece of orange cardstock to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 and added it to a top folding A2 card base I created out of yellow cardstock.

I stamped both floral images from the Garden Whispers kit and ink blended them with the inks listed above. I stamped extras and used part of one of the extras for the inside of the card. I die cut the florals after ink blending them and added the larger one to the white panel I had trimmed to 4 by 5 1/4 inches. I trimmed off some foliage that hung over the side and added it to the top right of the card. I added the embossed panel to the orange A2 panel on the card base.

The "hugs" sentiment on the front of the card and the "lots of love" sentiment on the back of the bookmark are both from Altenew's Craft-Your-Life: Magnificent Magnolias project kit. I stamped and die cut the word "hugs" and then stacked a few more die cuts behind it for dimension after blending a bit of Golden Honeycomb ink over the stamped layer. I adhered the sentiment to the card front to finish the front of the card.

For the inside of the card, I added a white panel that was trimmed to 4 by 5 1/4 inches. I adhered just the bud from the top of the largest floral in the Garden Whispers kit to the bottom right of the white panel and then stamped Papertrey Ink's Reflections stamp of Numbers 6:24-26. You may recognize that as the verse I add at the end of all my blog posts if you are a regular visitor to my blog. It's a beautiful blessing, and I was so delighted to see Papertrey Ink make a stamp of it.

For the bookmark, I trimmed the embossed panel so that only the center portion was left and then trimmed a panel the same size out of the same orange cardstock I used as the layer behind my white embossed panel on the card front. I added the smaller floral stamp from the Garden Whispers kit to the front of the bookmark and then added the "lots of love" sentiment (with a little ink blending over the front with what was left on my blending brush from ink blending the florals) and stamped the Philippians 1:6 verse on the back of the bookmark. I punched a hole at the top of the bookmark and added some floss through the hole to finish the bookmark.

For the envelope, I stamped the smaller floral image onto the side of a kraft envelope using Versamark embossing ink and added clear embossing powder over the image before heat setting it. I then ink blended it with darker colors of the same ink collections as I used for the card and bookmark (Sun-Kissed Delights and Whispering Woodland ink collections).
