Friends from church just had their first baby recently, and I wanted to make them a special card to celebrate Veronica Ann's arrival. I decided to create a background using Altenew's Craft-Your-Life: Whispers in the Canopy project set. I embossed a white panel and then used Altenew's Rounded Rectangles Stencil set to mask off the edge of the panel so when I used the coordinating stencils that match up with the embossing folder, I had a white edge. I used inks from Altenew's Bubblegum Dreams and Whispering Woodland collections to ink blend the embossed panel.
For the giraffes, I used Altenew's Gentle Giraffes die set and layered them up in pink cardstocks. I've never made pink giraffes before, but I thought they would be perfect for a baby girl card. I added them to the a circle I die cut using a retired Altenew die set and some vellum. Then I added the vellum circle to the embossed panel using Altenew's Instant Dimension Foam tape behind the parts of the vellum covered by the giraffes.
The "congratulations" and "on the arrival of your bundle of joy" sentiments are from Altenew's Gift From Heaven stamp set.
I matted the embossed panel onto a pink panel and then added them to a top-folding white A2 card base.

ReplyDeleteI love seeing how other people use elements of kits I have. I have the whispers in the canopy set and it was great to see how you combined it with the baby giraffe card. My niece is having her first baby, so perhaps I may try to duplicate this one🌸
I hope you try it, Deborah! The Whispers in the Canopy set is such a fun one!
