This is my fifth and final card for the Time Out challenge with the theme of Alphabet Magnet Letters. I've really enjoyed this theme and have tried to mostly use Altenew products on my cards since Altenew is sponsoring the challenge.
To create this card, I splattered black, gray, and 2 colors of orange splatters on a white 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch panel and set that aside to dry. Then I worked on die cutting Altenew's Craft-A-Flower: Sunburst Azaleas and leaves out of snippets of water color cardstock I had previously water colored, smooshed, and sprayed with various shades of orange and green. I like to make up lots of my own card stock to use for die cutting, and I tend to take an afternoon or evening and just have fun smooshing, spritzing, spraying, splattering, etc. in various colors.
Once I had the pieces die cut, I assembled the flowers and then arranged them on the card panel with the leaves. I used Press N Seal to hold all the pieces in place as I began to adhere them to the card panel. I used foam tape between some of the die cut layers of the flowers as well as behind the flowers to pop them up on the panel so this card has lots of dimension. I plan to hand deliver it to my mother-in-law for the pretty hanging basket she gave me for Mother's Day.
For the sentiment, I used Altnew's Bold Thanks die, and I die cut the letters in my homemade orange water color paper and the shadow in black card stock. To finish the card, I adhered the sentiment to the card panel and then adhered the panel to an A2 card base.
Close up of the sentiment and flowers:
Challenges I'm entering:
New tab (timeoutchallenges.blogspot.com): Alphabet magnet letters C5 (5/5; ends 5/22/24)
As You Like It Challenge: Favorite sketch and why: I love to put a focal point in the center of the card and then add a sentiment at the top or bottom. I feel like whatever focal point I've chosen can take center stage and really get the attention by placing it in the middle of the card. (1/3; ends 5/29/24)
The Diva's that cut ....paper! (die-cut-divas.blogspot.com): Monochromatic (2/3; ends at the end of the month)
Snippets Playground (pixiessnippetsplayground.blogspot.com): ATG with snippets: I used a snippet of black card stock for the sentiment shadow and some white snippets for the base layer of the flower centers (I colored the tips black and then adhered orange die cuts to cover the rest of the white), and most of the flower die cuts are from pieces I have left of the water color card stock I created myself. I only use tiny bits of it at a time since many of these Craft A Flower sets have teeny pieces (1/1; ends 5/24/24)
Allsorts challenge blog: ATG (1/3; ends 5/24/24)
No more challenges.

Thanks so much, Sarn! Is a prefect the same as a playground monitor here in the US? Someone who makes sure the students behave when they are out at recess time?
DeleteYes - that's correct! x
DeleteThanks for clarifying!
DeleteLittle correction from 'Miss' Di. Sarn is usually to be found causing any mayhem going on in the Playground! She's a scamp! x
