This month over at The Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge, we were given this adorable digi from All Dressed Up Stamps to use. I'd been thinking about what I wanted to do with it since the first of the month and finally felt like a shaker card with non-traditional Christmas colors would be fun. This image could easily be converted to a birthday card by simply erasing the Christmas star, also.
I sized up my digi using my Silhouette Design Studio software and then printed her onto white cardstock. I colored her with Copic and MEXPY markers and die cut her with the largest die in the Anja's Square set by Marianne Design. Then I die cut 2 frames out of adhesive foam using dies from the same set. I also die cut a layer of clear cardstock with one of the dies to cover the opening of my shaker card.
I adhered 1 frame to the die cut and added some glitter, sequins and stars to the opening. I adhered my clear cardstock covering to the first frame with 1/8th inch Scor-tape. Then I added my 2nd frame on top of the clear cardstock layer. I'm disappointed that my blue tinsel glitter stuck to the inside of the clear cardstock (too much static, I guess!), but otherwise I think it turned out well.
I made a top-hinge card with pink cardstock using the largest die from the same Marianne set I'd been using and adhered my shaker element to it with glue tape.
