It's time for the start of a new challenge over on the Creative Creases Challenge blog, and here's a look at my DT card that was inspired by a card design I saw on Ardyth Percy-Robb's YouTube channel. After seeing her create a circle flip card, I decided I wanted to give this fun fold a try! If you'd like to give it a try, too, here's the video with the measurements and instructions:

This card is going to my youngest daughter to celebrate her being selected as Junior Sailor of the Year for her division. I'm so proud of all she has accomplished so far in her 4+ years in the Navy. I wanted to use Altenew's Craft-Your-Life: Stitched with Love project kit since I felt like the sentiments worked perfectly for a congratulations card. This project kit hasn't been released on the website yet, but keep your eye open for it later this month when the January release drops. Since I'm a subscriber to the Craft-Your-Life monthly project kits, I receive them before they are released on the website.
I started by creating an A2 card base using Strong Lime Cardstock from YPI's Box 1. Then I created the inner pop-up panel with the same cardstock. I trimmed it to 5 inches by 8 inches and then scored it at 2 1/2, 4 1/2, and 6 inches. Aside from the white cardstock I stamped the burlap texture on for the inside of the card, all the papers I used for this card are from Your Paper Insider (YPI). Next, I trimmed a piece of Hot Pink cardstock from YPI's Box 1 to 4 by 5 1/4 inches. I stenciled one of the stencils from the Stitched with Love project kit onto the Hot Pink Cardstock using Altenew's Coral Berry Fresh Dye Ink for a tone-on-tone look. I then adhered the panel to the front of the green card base with liquid glue, avoiding any glue in the center. I ran the card front through my die cutter with the largest circle die from Altenew's Fine Rings and then separated the green and pink circles. I die cut the pink circle with the next smallest circle die in the set and attached it to the larger green circle die cut.
Next, I added the inner pop-up panel to the card following Ardyth's instructions in her video. Then I glued down only the part of the circle die cut that rests on the pop-up pillar. This created the flip circle mechanism. Then I added a sewing machine die cut from Tonic Studio's Sew Crafty die set to the inner circle.
To decorate the front of the card, I made a wreath of die cuts from the Stitched with Love set and the same Tonic Studios Sew Crafty die set I used for the sewing machine. The needles, pins, hanger, scissors, and sewing machine were die cut using the Holographic Silver Cosmo Swirl cardstock from YPI's Box 1. The buttons were die cut from Tarasen Zen Pink Pearl and Tarasen Linen Yellow Pearl papers I adhered to white cardstock using a spray adhesive (the Tarasen papers were both from YPI's Box 1). The foliage elements were embossed and die cut using the Stitched with Love set (if you look closely, there's stitching details on the leaves from the embossing folder). The foliage elements were die cut from Lime Satin Shine cardstock from YPI's Box 2. After I had die cut all the pieces, I assembled them in a wreath formation, being careful not to block the movement of the circle flip part of the card. For the sentiment on the front, I stamped "sew happy for you" from the Stitched with Love project kit onto the Strong Lime Cardstock I had used for the card base and inner pop-up panel. I adhered the sentiment to the bottom of the card front using liquid glue.
Next, I trimmed 2 pieces of white cardstock (1 3/4 by 4 3/4 and 2 1/4 by 4 3/4) and used a background stamp from the Stitched with Love kit to add some texture to the panels. Then I stamped "you're sew amazing" from the same Stitched with Love kit onto more of the Strong Lime Cardstock. I had to cut the sentiment strip into 2 pieces to make it fit on the inside of the card. I finished the card by adding a few buttons I had left over from die cutting the buttons for the wreath along with some "thread" and another needle.
