Outlawz DT Twisted Thursday Inky Impressions Christmas Card

I designed this card for the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge: Anything Goes this week. I just received a few Inky Impressions digital stamps from winning a recent card challenge and thought I would like to use "Angelica's Yummy Goodies" and "Gingerbread Cookies" for this card. I started by importing the digis to my Silhouette Design Studio software and sizing them up for this card. Then I did a trace of the image and colored her in digitally after releasing the compound path of the traced image. I regrouped everything after coloring the image and changed the cut lines to black and selected the option to print the cut lines. I did a couple of offsets for the 2 mats behind her. I did the same thing with the gingerbread cookies as I had done to our baker, and then moved them over onto the baking sheet. The digi set comes with other goodies to choose from, but gingerbread people worked well with the design paper I chose for the 6X8 inch card base.

For the pocket to hold my tag, I used a piece of Webster's Pages "Royal Christmas Delights" and scored and folded it to make the pocket. Then I realized that my desserts would be upside down if I wanted the pocket to open at the top! So I cut where the score line was and just glue taped the 2 pieces of cardstock back together so the desserts would be right-side up. Some days that's just how things go!

I printed the gingerbread cookie recipe digi stamp and cut it to fit in the pocket. I tied some sheer ribbon with gold trim on it so the recipient can easily pull it out of the pocket.

I used glue tape for all my adhering on this card except for my image. I popped her up with foam squares.

I'm wishing in hindsight that I had made her apron a different color than her oven mitts so the mitts would show up better, but it all looked very clean and clear on my virtual mat!

Here's the tag pulled most of the way out of the pocket.

Trick or Tweet Card

For this card, I used this week's sketch at From the Heart Stamps I {heart} Sketches challenge. I started with a 5x7 inch Kraft card base and used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the chicken wire design on the card front. The image and sentiment are from a digital stamp set by From the Heart Stamps called "Birdbrain Jack-o-lantern." I imported them to my Silhouette Design Studio software and sized them up for this card. I printed them out and colored the image with Copic and MEXPY markers.
I hand cut the banners for the sentiment and then used Spellbinders Labels 8 for the yellow mat and Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 for the orange mat. I used an outer circle die from Spellbinders Delicate Doilies to die cut a small circle and then embossed the circle with a Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the spider. Then I trimmed the side a bit to match the sketch. I die cut the web border (La-La Land Crafts Spiderweb Border die) to go underneath. I die cut a second web border and cut part of it for the upper left hand corner, also.
I adhered the banners and image with foam squares, the mats with glue tape, and the web and spider with glue dots.

Deedee's Digi October DOTM card

This month's progressive challenge set from Deedee's Digis has lots of great images and sentiments. There's a whole scene with this scarecrow in a field with pumpkins, a fence and a crow. For this card, I chose to use just the scarecrow stamp and then the Autumn To-Do List because I wanted them to fit a particular card shape.
I imported the digi set to my Silhouette Design Studio software and sized the scarecrow and sentiment to fit the dies I planned to use. One really great feature of Deedee's digi stamp sets is that they come with both blank outlines and colored versions of the images. Sometimes I'm in the mood to color, but it's nice to have the option to use a pre-colored stamp, also.
I used a new Sizzix die set I just bought last week ("Fold-a-Long Ticket Card") to cut out the base card and my digi stamp and sentiment. This is the card front when it's closed. I used some twine to close it.
Here's the card when it's opened.
Here's a view from an angle so you can see the sentiment better. I added a couple clay leaves I made with Sculpey and cut out with Premo's "Nature" mini cutter set.

Sympathy Card

My cousin's wife lost her father recently, and I wanted to send the family a sympathy card to let them know we were praying for them in this time of mourning. Her father was a believer, so the family has the comfort of knowing he is with Jesus in heaven now. Still, he will be missed by his wife, children and grandchildren.
This card started with a DCWV A2 card blank. I liked the soft colors and pretty pattern. I used a WordArt Wednesday scripture for the envelope flap. Such a good reminder in difficult times that God is our strength.
For the sentiment on the front, I punched out 2 shapes using EK Tools Special Celebrations Stamp and Punch set. I layered the pink shape on the bottom and turned the white one the other way so the pink edges peeked out behind the sentiment. I used one of Gina Marie Stamps Bible Quotes 2 for the sentiment on the front and one of her Bible Quotes 4 for the sentiment on the inside. I have known Gina personally for a number of years now from shopping at her Scrapbook Outlet store and am thrilled to see her line of stamps and dies taking off.
For the inside of the card, I used the same EK Tools Special Celebrations Stamp and Punch set for the stamping on the background mat and the punch with the sentiment on it.
I think death reminds us that nothing we can buy or sell or accumulate here on earth can give us any security for the future. Truly our only hope is in the Lord. Faith in Christ provides the certain hope of eternal life and allows us the comfort of knowing we will one day be reunited with our loved ones who died in Christ.

Mistletoe Kitty Christmas Card

Each month over at Imagine That! Digi Stamps, there is a progressive freebie challenge. By entering this month's challenge, participants automatically receive the next month's digital set for FREE. I just love challenges where everyone is a winner! Plus it's always fun to anticipate what the new stamp sets are going to be each month!
For the card base, I used red cardstock that I die cut in 2 separate pieces using Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles. I die cut one piece with a little "flap" on it so I could adhere the second piece to the flap to form my card base. By attaching the piece without the flap to the front of the card, my card front doesn't show the small place where I had to cut underneath the die's top edge to keep the flap attached.
For the digi, I imported it to my Silhouette Studio Design software and added the sentiment beneath it. Then I printed it out (I used the pre-colored version included in the stamp set) and die cut it using Spellbinders Labels 10. I used a Marvey snow marker on the hat tassel, fur trim on the hat, kitten's tail and chest and added white glitter while the marker was still wet. I used some ribbon on the sides and adhered it with glue tape. I popped up the image with foam squares. I added a few red gemstones for decoration, and the card was done!

Here's a close-up of the glitter:

It's All About the Candy Halloween Card

For this card, I cut an A2 card base out of Halloween pattern paper. I love the cute "trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat" sentiment repeated on the cardstock along with little candy corns and black boots. So darling!
My little monsters are from Gerda Steiner Designs. I imported them to my Silhouette Studio Design software and sized them up for this card. While in my Silhouette program, I also sized up the "It's all about the candy!" sentiment by From the Heart Stamps from their digital stamp set "Candy Run." I printed the sentiment and images out, colored the monsters with Copics and MEXPY markers and then fussy cut the monsters.
I added some Halloween lollipops to my monsters and a couple of Halloween candies to the sentiment tag from a Paper Studios embellishment set I recently bought at Hobby Lobby. I tied some orange twine in a bow on the tag and adhered everything with foam squares.
I plan to send this off to my 2 nephews for Halloween. They are 7 and 10 and a good age for dressing up and collecting candy around their neighborhood. Ah, to be a kid again!!

Monstrous Birthday Card

My nephew is turning 10 years old in a few days! It's hard to believe he's going to be in the double digits already! I made this card for him with a Halloween theme since his birthday is so close to Halloween.
I started with the cute trio of monsters. These were digis I chose from Gerda Steiner Designs when I won last month's freebie progressive challenge drawing. Gerda very generously allowed me to choose any 3 digis or digi sets from her online collection, and these guys caught my eye. These are my kind of monsters! Not scary, just cute!
I imported the digis to my Silhouette Design Studio software and got busy sizing them and arranging them. They came as 3 little monsters in a row, so I had to erase the octopus-looking creature from the first set and then erase the other 2 monsters from the second set I added to my virtual mat. After that, I just needed to decide where to place the "octopus" behind the other two. I think this arrangement worked out well.
After arranging the monster trio, I got to work on the sentiment. I chose "Scary Halloween" font for the lettering. I made it orange and turned off the cut lines since I wanted to print it and die cut it instead of having each letter cut out individually on my Silhouette. I printed everything out and colored the monsters with Copic and MEXPY markers.
I used a 5X7 inch white card blank for my card base and then trimmed some black cardstock as a mat. I embossed some green cardstock with a 5X7 Cuttlebug folder and trimmed it to fit the black mat. Then I die cut the sentiment using Spellbinders Labels 33 and the image using Spellbinders Decorative Labels 25. I distressed the edges of the die cuts with a little orange ink and adhered the sentiment to the corner using a candy-shaped eyelet and my Crop-A-Dile tool. I adhered the image with foam squares to pop it up. The mat layers were adhered with glue tape.

    Snowman Trip card

This card was inspired by the theme "Transportation" over at Twisted Thursday at The Outlawz. It's my first card as a member of their DT! I'm very excited to work with such a great group of talented, supportive ladies.
This digi stamp and sentiment came from a special fundraising set by From the Heart Stamps and included the colored version of this stamp (which I'm using for this card). It's such a fun digi with the snowman wearing driving goggles and the car packed with skis and gifts! I imported the set to my Silhouette Design Studio software and sized everything up the way I wanted it for the card then printed it out. The "One Way" sign and the curvy road were also done with my Silhouette program.
For the card base, I used some travel paper and folded it so I could die cut a ticket card shape out of it with my Spellbinders Grand Large Labels dies. Then I used Spellbinders Large Labels for the image, mat and sentiment as well. The mat behind the digi stamp is from a Paris map book, and I had some travel-themed Washi tape to decorate the left edge. I used foam tape to pop up the sentiment, digi stamp and "One Way" sign.
