Zesty Birthday Card

I've been playing with my new SU! Sweet Citrus bundle this week, and I used the hybrid embossing folder to make a fun background on the kraft card base and then die cut, stamped, and embossed the citrus fruits and stamped and die cut the flowers before stamping and fussy cutting the sentiment.

Thanks A Bunch Sweet Citrus Bundle Card

This fun card started with a kraft card base. I then added an embossed background using yellow cardstock I ran through the hybrid embossing folder that comes with the Stampin' Up! Sweet Citrus bundle. I stamped and fussy cut the "Thanks a bunch" sentiment and then stamped, embossed, and die cut the lemons and adhered them to a pink background. I like how the colors are so bright and cheerful. I chose them to follow the MFT Color Challenge and think it's a combination I will go back to in the future.

Sending You a Big Squeeze Sweet Citrus Bundle Card

This card is another one using the Sweet Citrus SU! bundle and the colors from the MFT Color Challenge. I recently heard from Jennifer Maguire that you should try to think of 5 different ways you can use a stamp or die set before buying it, and this Sweet Citrus bundle has many more than 5! I've only scratched the surface with the cards I've been making this week. I can see adding some of my own sentiments like "You're the Zest!" and "Lime I'll Yours."

I used a kraft card base and embossed it with the hybrid embossing folder from the Sweet Citrus bundle. Then I stamped and die cut the sentiment and flowers and stamped and die cut and embossed the lemons. I had some ready-made yellow bows I've been trying to find a use for, so I decided to add one to the corner of the card. Isn't this a cheery card? It was a quick and easy make since I had used my MISTI to stamp a bunch of die cut lemons from the set all at once and then ran them through the embossing folder.

John 15:5 Sweet Citrus Bundle Card

This week's card for the shut ins I send greetings to features a Stampin' Up! bundle I got for Christmas called Sweet Citrus. It features a hybrid embossing folder, dies, and stamps. I thought of using it immediately when I saw this version of John 15:5 printed on a thank you card from one of the missionaries my husband and I help support, so I created a word art of it using my Silhouette Design Studio software. I chose the color palette for the card to follow the colors in the MFT Color Challenge this time. Pink, yellow, blue, and kraft are a great combination for this stamp, die, and EF set. The fruit pieces are all die cut, stamped, and then embossed with the same folder that I used for the yellow background. The flowers were also stamped and die cut from the same set. The inside sentiment is also part of the stamp set.

Here's the front of the card:

Here's the sentiment I used inside:

Zesty Birthday Tucked Corner Card

My oldest daughter has a birthday this weekend, and since she loves citrus fruits, I designed a card for her using SU!'s new Sweet Citrus bundle and some fun design paper with lemons on it. I stamped, die cut and embossed the fruit and stamped and die cut the leaves and little "Just for you" sign (that's from a different SU! bundle called Potted Geraniums). I used a Gina Marie stitched circle die as the background for the sentiment and fruit grouping. I fussy cut the "Have a zesty birthday" sentiment after stamping it. I decorated the back, too, and added some fun embellishments to make it special. I even found some citrus stickers to decorate the envelope flap in my stash!

The fun fold card design comes from Iced Images here: (1) 6x6 Tucked Corner Fold Card - YouTube. I used the measurements from the video to create a Silhouette cut file in Silhouette Design Studio.

When opened, it looks like this:

As You Like It Challenge: Favorite reason to send a card: I like to send cards for many different reasons, but I think birthday cards are especially fun as they are an excuse to celebrate friends and family and let them know I'm thinking of them on their special day. I also like that there is such a wide variety of birthday themes to choose from: funny, floral, masculine, etc. (2/3; ends 1/25/23)

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge (trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com): New (the Sweet Citrus bundle was a Christmas gift this year, so I've been having fun playing with my new stamps, dies, and EF from the bundle. Also, this is a new card design I just learned about) (1/2; ends 1/18/23)

Sweet Citrus Bundle Rocker Card

This is another card for my upcoming free card class. I was so excited to see that I had some design paper with lemons on it to match the Sweet Citrus SU! bundle. I bet many of you can relate to having way too much card stock but still struggling sometimes to find just the right color or pattern for the project you are working on! My theme for 2023 is to try to use up what I have rather than acquiring more, so this worked out perfectly!

I used a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store for the rocker card base and used my Silhouette Cameo 4 to cut out the papers for all 12 sets of cards (one for the sample I have here, one for the one I'll put together with the class, and then 10 sets for the class members to assemble).

I used the Sweet Citrus bundle to stamp and die cut the lemon and leaves and then ran the lemon through the embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment on the yellow and white design paper and added a bow to the top of the card. For the inside, I stamped another sentiment and flowers from the same bundle.

Here's a look at the inside of the card:

Tucked Corner Fold Card with SU!'s Sweet Citrus Bundle

This card was so fun to make! I created a cut file in my Silhouette Design Studio software based on the measurements found in this video: 6x6 Tucked Corner Fold Card - YouTube. A big shout out to Iced Images for all the wonderful fun fold cards. I highly recommend subscribing to her YouTube channel for clever and unique card ideas.

After watching the video and creating a cut file for the pieces, I chose my card stock and grabbed my new Sweet Citrus stamps, dies, and hybrid embossing folder set from SU! and got to work cutting out the pieces and then stamping, embossing, and die cutting everything. This set has some fun sentiments in it, and I love the way the 3D hybrid embossing folder coordinates with the stamps to create 3D elements!

This particular card was created as a thank you to Debbie Mageed over at Secrets to Stamping - with Debbie Mageed (secretstamper.com). I recently won a SU! stamp set from her Creative Creases challenge, and she also is sending me a SU! stamp and die bundle for being part of her downline as a SU! demonstrator. She's always so encouraging and leaves me lots of love on my blog, so I wanted to send her a special card. Thanks so much, Debbie! I know you'll see this since I'm entering this card in your Creative Creases challenge😁.
