Gina Marie Designs Cross Coverplate Die Shaker Cards

I designed these cards to showcase my friend Gina Gerfen's new Gina Marie Designs "Stitched Cross Background" die. The die can be used several different ways and looks very pretty with different colors of cardstock inserted in the cutouts around the cross, but I wanted to do something a little different to show the versatility of this die. My card base is shimmery blue cardstock for both cards. Each card was made using 3 layers of adhesive foam, 2 layers of double-sided sticker paper, 1 layer of clear cardstock and 1 layer of silver cardstock for the top. I used the adhesive foam to form my first 3 layers and then inserted various sequins and seed beads in the openings. Then I put down a layer of double sided sticker paper I had die cut with the same die as the foam layers and adhered it to the top layer of foam. I then placed my layer of clear cardstock (I used the die as a template and cut around the outer rectangle) onto the exposed adhesive to adhere it to the foam. The I added another layer of double-sided adhesive die cut with the cross background die and added it to the back of the silver cardstock layer and then adhered that to the clear cardstock. For the top card, I stamped "Hallelujah" onto the white card background, while for the bottom card I adhered a yellow die cut from this cross die that I had stamped with "Hallelujah" before sticking it down over the cross piece of the die. I also used some crinkle ribbon from Paper Sweeties tied to the side of the second card.

Gina Marie Designs Sympathy Card

This card uses a new technique I learned at the Stamp Academy class I won from a blog hop a few weeks ago. I was able to inlay this very intricate die cut into the lovely blue paper I had watercolored by die cutting the Gina Marie Designs "Sympathy" die and then leaving all the pieces in the die and placing a small amount of adhesive on the back of all the little bits I needed to add back to the opening (the opening in the "p" and the "a" and all the bits of blue in the flourishes). Then I placed the die back inside the die cut opening and adhered them down by gently pressing on each one with the tool I use to get the small pieces out of my dies when they stick. It worked beautifully! Then I simply die cut the word in silver cardstock and sprayed it with my spray on adhesive before placing it in the space left for it in the blue paper. It fit perfectly! Then I die cut Gina Marie Designs dragonfly die and added a few silver sequins. Isn't this a lovely sympathy card?

Foil Easter Egg Card for Gina Marie Designs

I designed this card for my friend Gina Gerfen to showcase these fun Easter egg dies in her Gina Marie Designs line. You can find them at http://wholesalecraftingsupplies.com for only $8. The set also comes with a plain solid egg that can be used behind the eggs with designs.

I watercolored some purple splatters on watercolor paper for the background behind these eggs. After the paper had dried, I rounded the edges and mounted it with glue tape to a 5x7 card base after rounding the card base's corners, also. Then I paired up the 5 different patterns of eggs into sets using one with the pattern punched out and one with the pattern still intact in various colors of metallic foil by Spellbinders. I used foam tape to adhere the eggs to the watercolor paper. I like how they turned out. What do you think?

Watercolor Easter Eggs with Gina Marie Design Egg Die Cuts

This Easter card uses 3 dies from the Gina Marie Designs egg set you can find here http://wholesalecraftingsupplies.com for just $8. I decided to watercolor some papers using different colors and then die cut the eggs and replaced the patterns with different colors of papers. The background paper was splattered with purple watercolor splotches and mounted onto a purple glitter cardstock A2 card base. I used glue tape on the egg die cuts and ran my glue gun over the open spaces so that when I adhered the eggs to the watercolor paper, there was adhesive exposed in all the openings so I could easily insert the different colors of paper into the open spaces, press them onto the exposed adhesive and have them easily stick to the paper.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to Ewe Card

 

This week over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge, our twist is to SHOW US SOME GREEN! Just use some green on your card if you want to add the twist. Otherwise, you can always enter a project that's anything goes! Hope you can join us!

This card started with a 5X7 inch white card that I embossed with a Cuttlebug shamrock embossing folder. Then I splattered some green Twinkling H2O watercolor on it to finish the background.

For the image, I used a digi from this month's sponsor Bugaboo.

After importing my digi and sentiment into my Silhouette Design studio software, I sized it up along with the accompanying sentiment and traced my sheep so I could do a print and cut. I also added a cut file to the sentiment so I could print and cut it as well.

I colored my sheep with Copic and MEXPY markers and added some white liquid appliqué to make his wool puffy. Then I colored over the sentiment with a green Copic marker and die cut some "grass" for my sheep to stand on using a Tim Holtz Sizzix die.
