Aladdin Card

This spring my daughter was in her first middle school musical, and it was a wonderful experience for her. She was a shopkeeper in the "Aladdin Jr." musical, and she absolutely adored working with her choir teacher/musical director. Miss Hildebrandt did an amazing job working with the cast and making this show fantastic. We wanted to thank her for all her hard work, and so being a cardmaker, I knew she would be getting a thank you card made specially for her!
I happened upon this Aladdin-themed clear stamp set by Your Next Stamp on a recent trip to my local craft outlet store and felt so blessed to have the perfect stamp set to make Miss Hildebrandt's thank you card. Don't you love it when that happens? God is so good to care about even the small details of our lives!
To make this card, I started with a 5x7 inch card base and distressed the edges with blue ink. Then I cut a piece of design paper to fit as a background. I thought the wave pattern could double as smoke wafting out of the lamp whenever the genie was summoned. I added some blue sparkly cardstock and a border of sparkly silver adhesive paper to follow the sketch over at Your Next Stamp's bi-weekly challenge.
For the image, I heat embossed the stamp with black ink and clear embossing powder. Then I die cut the image with a Gine Marie Designs stitched oval die and colored the image with Copic, MEXPY and opaque white markers.
I designed the sentiment using my Silhouette Design Studio software and printed it on vellum and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder to match the gold lamp in the image. I die cut the sentiment with an X-stitched Gina Marie Designs rectangle die and adhered it with glue dots in the four corners. I covered where the glue dots showed through the vellum with some blue rhinestones and added a few blue and gold sequins to finish it all off. I think my daughter's director will enjoy this card.
Here's my daughter (second from the left) with her friends having fun after the first performance:

And here's how the inside looks:
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
