Psalm 30:5 Word Art Wednesday Guest Designer Card

I'm back as the Guest Designer on Word Art Wednesday today, and my card features the beautiful word art of Psalm 30:5: For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. This verse provides believers with wonderful hope regardless of the challenges we face.

The sponsor for WAW this time is Penguin Palace, a Canadian company that sells stamps, dies, and stencils. They have an innovative product called Stencils 360 that allows circular stencils to be turned at precise angles to create amazing designs. I bought the starter kit and a few stencil sets awhile ago, and I was thrilled to use them to create this card.

The front of the card was created using the Penguin Palace Abstract Blossom stencil in the Stencils 360 platform. There are a variety of designs that stencil can make, but I used it at 30 degree intervals for this card front. I trimmed it to 5 7/8 inches and mounted it to the front of my 6X6 card. I added a butterfly die cut with some blue gems and 3 clear dew drop embellishments to complete the card front. The stencil is the star here for sure! I printed the verse on transparent sticker paper so that the stenciled blossom could show through behind the sentiment.

Close up of the verse:

For the inside panels and the back of the card, I used the Penguin Palace Mandala Bundle to create three different mandalas in a variety of colors. The way the stencils are created makes them easy to ink up with different colors without the need to mask them. I turned each of the mandalas at 45 degree intervals, but they can be inked at many different intervals to create a variety of designs.

After creating the mandalas, I trimmed them down to 5 1/2 inches and mounted them to the card base. For the inside panels, I created a frame with a circle in the middle and added some acetate so the shaker bits would show through the window. I used foam tape to mount the frames after choosing several colors of micro beads to add inside the windows. I then added a flourish die to the left side and a dragonfly to the right side. I embellished the dragonfly with some blue gems on his body.

A look at the beads when the card has been shaken:

The back of the card has a butterfly die cut with orange gems on its body to add a little decoration to the panel with the stenciled mandala.
