Double Pillar Floating New Year's Card

I recently found some great pattern paper with Chinese lanterns that I thought would be perfect to create cards for the Lunar New Year Challenge. For this fun fold card design, I followed Connie Stewart's tutorial here: ðŸ”´ DIY Double Floating Pillar Card | Mind-Blowing Fun. I changed the dimensions of the inner floating panels to work better for the numbers I wanted to use, but the card base and pillars are the same dimensions as in her video.

I started by creating the card base out of black cardstock. Then I trimmed red cardstock layers for the front panels and back panels and the inner panels with the numbers on them. Next, I trimmed the lantern pattern paper to decorate the front and back of the card and to create the inner pillars. Finally, I die cut the black numbers from Altenew's Bold Numerals Die Set and the gold "happy" from Altenew's Essential Sentiment Strips Die Set. I added them to the red panels and attached them to the pillars with the mechanisms Connie shows in her video.
