Light Of The World Glowing Lantern Card

I was part of a New Year's Eve Zoom session with other Altenew fans tonight and finished this card for one of the challenges posted. I used the colors in Altenew's Monthly Inspiration Challenge for a final card in this month's challenge.

I started with a black A2 card base. Then I ink blended onto a panel of Your Paper Insider's watercolor paper to create a glow behind where I wanted to hang my lantern. Then I created a stencil using Altenew's Berry Branch Layering Die Set. I die cut the branch die and then used the negative piece as a stencil.  I ink blended brown Altenew's Choco Hazelnut ink through the homemade stencil and then added shades of blue and a little black to the edges of the panel. I splattered some water droplets for texture.

I die cut the little lantern out of the following Your Paper Insider's papers: Box 11: Deep Blue Ruche, Silver Lustre Cadillac, Mai Thai Cocktail Shimmer, and Buttercream Arturo Cover. The black accents are from Box 1: Touche Black Smooth.

For the branch, I die cut the branch and leaves using Altenew's Craft-Your-Life: Whispers in the Canopy set using Your Paper Insider's watercolor paper I ink blended with Choco Hazelnut ink. The leaves were die cut from Lime Satin Shine from Box 2.

The sentiment is heat embossed using Papertrey Ink's Light Of Life set on YPI's Glama Clear Vellum from Box 2. I adhered the vellum to the back of the card panel and then added the panel to the black card base.

Wishing all my blog visitors a new year full of the light of Christ!
