Jen Rzasa, one of the co-founders of Altenew, recently started doing a livestream every Tuesday at 3 pm EST on the Altenew YouTube channel, and each week she has a challenge theme. This week it's in-laid die cutting. The challenge is to create a card using that technique.
For my card, I watercolored several pieces of watercolor paper using watercolors from Altenew's Watercolor 36 Pan Set as well as from Altenew's Palette Perfection Watercolor Tube Bundle. I let everything dry and then die cut the different colors using Altenew's Zero Waste: Berries and Branches die. I wanted the frame to be gold, so I die cut the die a final time out of gold cardstock. I adhered the frame to an A2 card base and then began in-laying all the die cuts using the different colors I had die cut. I now have a lot more die cuts in multiple colors for future projects!
The "Blessed" die and shadow come from Altenew's Craft-Your-Life: Garden Whispers project kit, and the "to have you in my life" sentiment on the inside of the card comes from Altenew's Mega Greetings 4 stamp set.
In-laying all the die cuts didn't really take very long, and I think it's fun to see the different colors with the gold frame. I'll definitely be giving this another go soon!
