You're Sweet Thank You Card

A friend of mine treated my oldest daughter and me to a yummy lunch on my birthday, and I wanted to make a fun fold card to thank her. For this fun fold card design, I followed the instructions from Iced Images video here: (1) 5x7 Pop Out Floating Panel Card - YouTube. She calls it a 5X7 Pop Out Floating Panel Card. The center panel of hers is a bit different. I had to change it to accommodate the House Mouse stamp I wanted to use. 

I created a cut file in my Silhouette Design Studio software for the card base and panels based on Iced Images' measurements, and then I chose my papers. Since the stamp I was using featured ice cream, I went with some cute pattern papers with a frozen treat theme. The pattern paper I used on the inside of the card features ice cream cones and the one I used on the back has popsicles. I'm keeping some of that popsicle pattern paper to make an "anything is popsicle" card at some point! I just love puns!

After stamping the House Mouse stamp, I colored it with colored pencils and then fussy cut it. I chose a "thank you" stamp from my stash and an old CTMH stamp with a "you're sweet" sentiment that seemed like the perfect sentiment for this sweet treat-themed card. This is a 5X7 card, but I can see trying it as an A2 card at some point now that I've created the cut file for it.

Autumn Thank You Card

My birthday was this past Monday, and I was so blessed by the kindness of friends and family. I've been working on thank you cards, and this one is for my daughter in the Navy who lives in San Diego. She sent me two very thoughtful gifts, so I wanted to make her a special thank you card. 

I used MFT's Snow Swirls Cover-Up Die-namics die to die cut white card stock and then I blended MFT's Candied Yams ink over it. I thought the stitiched swirls looked like the wind blowing the leaves around. 

I adhered the background to my light orange A2 card base and then die cut 2 leaves from the retired SU! Love of Leaves bundle out of some orange ombre card stock. I stamped "thank you" from a Hero Arts stamp set and "U R GREAT" from a Lawn Fawn stamp and then adhered the larger leaf with liquid glue and the smaller leaf with foam tape.

Wonderful Anniversary Card

My son and his wife just celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary, and I made them a special card using a few new crafty goodies I recently bought. I used Deco Foil Duo Transfer gel with a Papertrey Ink stencil for the background and then ran that through my eBosser with a Heidi Swapp pink glitter sheet. I used the same method to apply glitter to the die cut butterflies (they were die cut using SU!'s retired Butterfly Brilliance dies). Then I used a Tonic Studios stamp, die, and stencil set (Splendiforous Corsage) for the floral focal point. I added some glitter paste to the last layer of the stencil. Then I used my new Hero Arts' Wonderful stamp and cut set for the sentiment. I die cut several layers of the word "wonderful" and adhered the bottom 3 layers together and then offset the white layer slightly so it looks like there's a shadow behind it. I die cut the stamped part of the sentiment using a Tonic Studios die that was part of the Splendiforous Corsage bundle. 

For the inside of the card, I used some stamps from the Splendiforous Corsage set and die cut the "Enjoy" sentiment with the coordinating die. I added another glittery butterfly to the inside as a final touch.

All Good Gifts are From Above Fun Fold Cards

The idea for these fun fold cards came from a generous SVG designer in the Silhouette Card Making and Paper Crafts FB group I'm part of. Thank you, Sabine Harris, for generously sharing the cut file to make these cute cards. If you have an electronic cutting machine and would like the file to make these cards, feel free to join the Silhouette Card Making and Paper Crafts FB group. Most designers who post free files create SVG files of their designs along with the ones in Silhouette Studio Design software. 

Now that the trees are starting to turn pretty colors and the temps are cooling down here in Michigan, I wanted to make fall-themed cards for the shut ins I send cards to, and I also wanted to make a fall-themed card to congratulate my sister-in-law on her new job, so I chose some double-sided orange card stock (solid orange on one side and light orange polka dots on a darker orange background on the other side) for the card bases. I cut out the card bases and layers using my Silhouette Cameo 4. 

To decorate the cards, I chose some retired Stampin' Up! bundles I recently purchased from my friend Debbie Mageed. Autumn Goodness had a sentiment ("All good things come from above") and stamp featuring a grouping of pumpkins, apples, and corn that I thought would be perfect for these cards. I also had some glittery fall leaf stickers I decided needed to be used after spending years in my stash 😁! I used colored pencils to color the stamp on my sister-in-law's card. The sentiment die and stamps for the back of my sister-in-law's card come from Hero Arts' Congrats & Happy stamp and cut set. I die cut 5 layers of the sentiment and adhered them together for some dimension and then popped up the leaf die cut (from SU!'s retired Love of Leaves) with foam tape. I used copper and gold Nuvo emellishment mousses with my leaf stencil to create the background:

Mystery Monday Stamping Adventure Card

This week's Mystery Monday Stamping with Sharon Armstrong had a bit of a mix-up that I'm going to call a happy mistake. In her weekly Sunday email, Sharon had inadvertantly sent out clues for next week's card instead of this week's card, and so there was some confusion in the group as she proceeded to give the clues for this week's card and they didn't match the sizes of the papers we had all cut out based on the clues we had received. This might not make sense to you if you haven't tried Mystery Monday Stamping, but Sharon emails clues each week on Sunday so participants can cut out various papers to be ready to assemble a card using clues Sharon shares during Mystery Monday Stamping on YouTube. The card below features the clues that were supposed to be for 9/18/23. I just copied down the first page of clues Sharon shared onscreen and then used her example card as a pattern to make mine. I've saved the papers I had cut out based on Sunday's email so that I can make another card with those later. The way I see it, we really got two card ideas instead of just one last night 😀. 

My camping-themed pattern paper is by Echo Park, and the "And so the adventure begins" stamp is from Tim Holtz. The tent is a free SVG from Creative Fabrika that I colored using my Ohuhu alcohol markers after doing a print and cut of it using my Silhouette Cameo 4.

Hope Your Birthday is in Tents Card

The theme over at Time Out Challenges is an inspiration photo with a great camping scene, so I found some cute camping-themed double-sided pattern paper and got busy creating some camping cards. My brother-in-law has a birthday coming up, and he does a lot of camping (even in the winter!), so I thought it would be fun to make him a card using the sketch and colors over at MFT Stamps Challenge along with the theme at Time Out. After I finished the card and proudly showed it to my husband, he told me his brother prefers to sleep in a hammock rather than a tent when he camps, but it's the thought that counts, right?! Somehow "Hope your birthday is hammock" just doesn't have the same ring to it😂.

You're a Reel Catch

This card is for my sweet husband who loves to camp and just got back recently from a wilderness camping trip to the Boundary Waters up in Minnesota with our 2 sons and our soon-to-be son-in-law. I used some free files from Creative Fabrika for the fishing pole, fish, and tent and followed the sketch and color challenges over at MFT stamps. I chose a camping theme so I could play along with Time Out Challenges this time. I created the print and cut sentiments in my Silhouette Design Studio software and matted them on some orange card stock.
