I decided that I would need a larger card base than usual in order to use the Marianne dies I wanted on the front behind the image, so I made an easel card that's 8 inches high by 6 inches wide. I used a trick I learned on Becca Feeken's blog "Amazing Paper Grace" (and it IS amazing what she does with her cards on her blog!) and cut a piece of 6 inch wide pearlescent blue cardstock 8 1/2 inches long. Then I scored the top 1/2 inch and folded it over. I cut another piece of 6 inch wide pearlescent blue cardstock 8 inches long and then used glue tape to adhere the second piece to the folded over "flap" on the first piece.
My next step was to arrange the die cuts I had chosen as a mat behind my digi stamp. I cut out 2 squares from the Marianne Dies set "Anja's Square Dies" and cut one of them in half lengthwise. I used the 2 halves for the outside edges of the mat.
Then I used the square I had left uncut for the center.
This arrangement allowed me to cover the whole center of the base card.
Then I cut out 2 Marianne Dies "Rectangle Frame and Elements" rectangles and placed one on top and one on the bottom of the squares
I had already used my Silhouette Design Studio software to size up my image before printing it out. I colored it with colored pencils and then cut a couple pieces of vellum to cover the glass part of the image to make it look a little more like a real glass. This was the first time I used vellum tape, and I think it did a good job of disappearing behind the vellum. I decided to add a few extra touches to make it more visually appealing, so I played around with a few different ideas and decided on a 3 buttons tied with twine and one of the flourishes from the "Rectangle Frame and Flourishes" set. I also used some green Pebbles cream chalk to paint the embossed part of the frame so it showed up better. Now I just needed to adhere my digi (which I had cut out using Marianne Dies "Rectangle Frame and Flourishes"), so I used foam squares to pop it up.
Here's a close up showing the cream chalk effects and the vellum on the glass.
Now for the inside! I had already planned to use the lemon sentiment from the "Pun Fun" acrylic stamp set by CTMH. I also wanted to use some of the other squares in the Marrianne Dies "Anja's Squares" set, so I cut out a few different possibilities and decided on this arrangement:
I wanted a little something more on this, so I added a flourish from the Marianne "Frame and Elements" die set and some print and cut lemons I made with my Silhouette Portrait. It looked like it needed a button to tie it in with the card front, so I used some twine to tie a knot on the button and adhered it with a glue dot.
Here's a close up of the beautiful embossing on the 2nd square:
This card took awhile to create, but it was fun playing with my dies and breaking out the cream chalk. I hadn't used that in an age! Plus, it always makes me happy when I have just the right sentiment for a card, and I like the unexpected advice on this sentiment! It goes so well with the digi stamp, don't you think?I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. I hope it will be useful for many people who are searching for this topic. The introduction of the Azerbaijan electronic visa has made it extremely convenient and simple for people to apply for and obtain an Azerbaijan online visa to enter Azerbaijan. There is no formality involved as the applicant does not need to visit the Azerbaijan Embassy or Consulate and the entire application process is conducted online.
ReplyDeleteThank you The international travelers who travel to Kenya need visa to Kenya from UK. That they can apply online and can get the 24*7 customer assistant.
ReplyDeleteI really like your work. After covid-19 the Indian government gave grants for online tourist visas. So you need to know how much an India e visa cost.
