Gerda Steiner Santa Card

This month over at Gerda Steiner's monthly progressive challenge, she created this adorable Sanat digi for us. Isn't he darling?!
I imported him to my Silhouette Design Studio software and played around with him a bit. I decided I liked the idea of making a shape card out of his outline, so I made a trace outline file, added a dotted line to the top of his hat for my score line and grouped the cut files with the original digi stamp. After printing and cutting that out, I went back and I ungrouped my digi from the cut files and just did a cut of the outline. I used some glue tape just above the dotted line to adhere the top of the Santa's hat to the second piece. Now my Santa lifts up from the bottom to show the inside of the card.

Here's the finished card, colored in Copic and MEXPY markers with Sargent Liquid Metal pens for the silver belt buckle and the gold letters.
